This Department serves as the driving force behind informed decision-making and strategic planning within the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy.

Key Function

Coordinating the formulation of policies aimed at fostering the adoption of ICT usage in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) across Nigeria.
Oversee the implementation, review, and updating of master plans and roadmaps in the ICT sector to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Coordinate the preparation of the Ministry’s Development/Annual Work Plans and Programs, collaboratively with other Departments and Parastatals.
Managing the review and updating of existing ICT and Postal Laws to ensure they adhere to international best practices, fostering a conducive regulatory environment.
Conducting routine project monitoring and evaluation to ensure projects meet their predefined targets.
Conducting intervention studies into relevant issues concerning ICT and the operational and management modalities of the ICT sector.
Providing secretariat services to the National Council on Communication Technology, a key advisory body to the government.
Developing and maintaining a Management Information System for the ICT sector within the Ministry.
Coordinate the preparation and processing of the Ministry’s/Agencies Federal Executive Council (FEC) memos and other Councils such as the National Economic Council (NEC) and manage relationships with various relevant committees of the National Assembly.
Facilitating partnerships among stakeholders in the ICT sector, both nationally and internationally, to enhance collaboration and innovation.
